Branches would like to take this opportunity to express our sincerest gratitude to the many volunteers and supporting citizens of Branches Refuge Domestic Violence Shelter in our mission to offer a safe haven to displaced women and children at risk in our community. We have been loyally, and tirelessly, committed to serving our families in need for almost 8 years.
It has been our greatest honor to help survivors of abuse get out of situations that posed harm to them; offering sanctuary, supportive life coaching and whatever we could provide to help them achieve self-sufficiency. We have learned so very much from each one of them and will be forever grateful to have witnessed their courage.
At this time, however, Branches of Monroe County can no longer sustain the shelter due to reasons beyond our control. We are currently referring all clients to the Crisis Center for Women, a domestic violence shelter in neighboring Loudon County whom we have had the privilege to partner with on many occasions.
We are actively looking at possibilities to see that our work will continue in a form that will serve families in Monroe County who stand in need of emergency assistance. We will keep the public updated as this transition begins to unfold. Thank you to everyone who has offered support to us, in every possible way, for the past 8 years.
